Iowa Is Now The Aggressor

One big thing I got out of this game while watching it was that Iowa was the aggressor during the 2nd half of that game and was going for the throat. Running off of Minnesota's misses, and even their makes and not letting the opponent relax defensively even for a moment.

For a time there, it started to feel like Iowa was going to run Minny right out of the gym. I can't wait to see what it's going to look like in a couple years when Fran has a full roster of his players with some experience.

Even though this game went right down to the wire (not surprising), it's great to see Iowa run and put teams back on their heels rather than being passive, walking the ball up the court, etc.

Fran has got to be turning the heads of the other coaches in this conference with these past two road wins.

Props to you on this post! Well spoken. Fran is a great coach and we may be seeing the emergence of one of the truely great coaches for the next 10 years. Hope so!

I hope you're right.. I'm very impressed with Fran so far - the team really seems to be buying into what he's coaching and the last two games are proof enough of that IMO.

It's hard to say how far Fran can take us, but I have no doubt at this point that we are in far better hands than we were with either of the past two coaches.

Fran is one hell of a coach. Mel wasn't getting it done and Fran had no problem benching his 'star' player. He got great contributions from everyone. We win this one going away if not for the problems at the FT line.

Gary Williams, one of the new commentators for the BTN, said Iowa has the best transition offense in the Big Ten.
