Iowa is in a good position for 2017/2018

Spencer Lee is probably Iowa's biggest recruit of all time. He is good enough to step right in at 125 and win championships.

Iowa has put together 3 great recruiting classes in a row. Last year's team was young, but with so much talent coming back Iowa will be in great position.

Brandon Sorensen will be back, and as a senior I pick him to be the national champion. Among Iowa's other major championship contenders will be Carton, Gunther, Kemerer, Turk, and Wilke. If Sam Stoll is healthy that's a bonus. Otherwise Steven Holloway's experience filling in this year will be valuable. Either one could be a champion.

I am looking forward to seeing next year's team. Those guys are hungry, ready to win, and eager to prove the skeptics wrong. Corey Clark had a lot of skeptics too, but he proved them wrong and won a national championship. These wrestlers can too.

That athletic department condones pedofilia. As the investigation continues the wrestling program will be dragged down with the rest of it, as it just about certain that at least one person in wrestling knew about that. The sanctions will cause several of their wrestlers to leave. They made a bad decision to start with going to a corrupt organization, and now it will hurt them.

Not so, not only do they pedos, they also don't have the long term stability and the high standards that the Iowa wrestling program. Just think of what it would be like if the Iowa Basketball team were to reach the final 4. People would remember it their entire lives, and those that were alive last time do. However the Iowa wrestling team does that and it's considered a down year. If Iowa does not pin every guy in every weight class the coaches are disappointed. They don't accept anything but the best, and they will do whatever it takes to maintain that standard. Compared to Iowa's long term sucess the pedos are just a flash in the pan, and they will fizzle.
