Iowa has a chance this year...

to do something special if KF realizes one thing.

Defense only wins championships if you have an offense.

We might be able to out score any team in the Big 10 this year with the new no huddle look.

It is about as un Iowa as you can get, but this defense is a sieve. Once in a while they'll get some stops, and the secondary looks like it will be really good.

But there is no reason why we should be scoring anything LESS than 30 points per game for the rest of the year.

I'm still not sure what to think. I will wait until after we've played some Big Ten games now. I hope your right.

I agree our is not going to line up and stop teams because the DL is weak. What we do have on D is some playmakers like Hyde and Prater. My fear is if we play the 'bend but don't break' teams will run it down our throat. Perhaps we should play more aggressive on D to set up some big plays on defense???

I thought our D was very aggressive yesterday, we blitzed a lot

If we wind up 5-1 going into Indiana and Minnesota, I'll be a very happy camper.

I see 3-1 in October and 2-2 in November 8-4 / 5-3 isn't horrible. But I think going into LIncoln 5-2 puts us in a position to be playing for Indy if we win.

A lot of the points we've given up this year have resulted from Prater falling asleep in key situations. We have not been getting beat because of the "bend but don't break"...through 4 games I think we've had more big plays against our D than in the last 4 years combined.

This year our best defense will be depending upon our offensive line and our QB. They have a bad game and it's lights out.

When we go into Lincoln, it will be for the Legends. I may be a homer, but I really think that is what will occur. By the second half of B1G play, the D will have grown up. That's almost a sure bet under Ferentz/Parker. That means, if we can get by Penn State (big if I know), I honestly do not see us losing to Northwestern with the emphasis that the program is putting on that game this year, and Indiana and Minnesota are terrible, meaning a strong possibility of 4-0 for the first half of conference play. D Line will be ready for Michigan, MSU and especially for Nebraska. At that point, our team will not be "young" anymore. Penn State game is equally as big this year as in the last three years.

The easiest way to score a TD on our D is to run a reverse-then-pass play or a double pass, the WR running the deep route is always open because the secondary can't stop biting on the ball carrier.
