Iowa Football Preview, Prediction: Purdue in Town for Homecoming

The team will let out a lot of frustrations on overmatched Purdont. Iowa is by far the more dominant team, and they will make that obvious.

Good chance to get the interior OL rolling after facing 2/3 toughest fronts they'll see all year, and Purdue is reeling right now.

Purdue is no pushover. But they aren't as strong as PSU or Michigan. They have a few good starters on defense. Last week they had a tough job against a very good running QB. Their pass rush can confuse an offensive line. Sometimes put 5 down lineman up then drop back 2. Sometimes a LB/corner/Safety blitz. It's going to be a full day of work for Iowa's offensive line. Their defensive line isn't strong but what they do all they can with it. They will have a full package schemed for Iowa.

Their offense can't run the ball. Their redshirt freshman QB, Jack Plummer is good. Rondale Moore may be injured but there's plenty of talent left. David Bell and J.D. Dellinger have been frequent targets.

Maryland pressured the Purdue QB all afternoon. Plummer gets rid of the ball quickly, accurately, and he can run. Having said that, Maryland's defense isn't near the caliber Iowa's is. It's all about pressure. Give Purdue's QB 4 to 5 seconds he'll complete a pass.

Iowa struggles but outpoints Purdue this Saturday.

Purdue is 2-4 and ravaged by injuries.

Impressive humility Rob but it's okay, you can say it- somebody out there probably saw your prediction (-11, 43) and decided their numbers were too high, right?
 
Purdont stinks so bad that Beth Mowins will call the game. Also their current coach is terrible. The last coach they had, Hazel or something, was much much better. He was a class act.

What is wrong with you? You're not even close to being accurate with this statement.
 
With the offense we have, we will be lucky to outscore anyone. Even bad defenses. We didn't exactly roll over Miami of Ohio or Rutgers until the second half of those games, and our line is worse than it has been in a very long time.

Except for the 4 teams we have outscored. 66.666% of the teams we have played this year have been outscored on by this offense.
But, yeah, the two top 10/15 defenses we played against made it hard to score. Go figure.

I am going to steal some of Drummer’s thunder and say Iowa gets an ugly victory. You might even hear the boo birds at halftime.

The KF apologists will continue to apologize, the haters will continue to hate and those of us in the middle will just shrug our shoulders.:)
 
Looking forward to Beth calling the game..she's not that bad. So I'm sticking with 31 to 17 Hawks and I'm predicting a score from the defense. We are due. Notable alum on the uptick. Go Hawks
