After reading the Hawk Central article I realized much of the info has come from the player's facebook accounts. Will this lead to a Ferentz crackdown on social media? I thought there already was? Or was that just for DJK? Nevertheless, it seems that several players are using FB. Maybe they can in the offseason? They should be able to use it to stay in touch with family and friends. I am guessing there will be a discussion on what can go on there related to Iowa football!

The players have always been allowed to use FB. It's twitter that Ferentz has cracked down on in the past.

The players have always been allowed to use FB. It's twitter that Ferentz has cracked down on in the past.

And the information on their condition wasn't withheld because Ferentz didn't want the public to know. It was withheld because both he and the university were obligated to do so by law. The players can say what it is if they want to, it's well within their rights.
