I sympathize with the players and the parents, and frankly all athletes, coaches, fans and staffs affected by the B1G decision. I’m really torn on this and my opinion of whether it was the right call to postpone the season might depend on the day I’m asked.

I would note the FOIA initiative mentioned in this letter probably would not apply. FOIA applies only to records held by the US Government.

There are state analogues to FOIA. Iowa's is called the Open Records Law or something like that. However, in no circumstances would any such law relate to the conference itself, as it is a private entity. Communications with the schools could be subject to disclosure, but not their internal records.
