Iowa Football Notebook: Alaric Jackson Could Be Back Relatively Soon

He misses Rutgers and ISU. Does he come back for MTSU, sounds like he'd be good to go, or do they hold him out until Michigan? Hmmmm. I think I'd hold him out until Michigan, being super conservative.

DJ Johnson played some CB the other day.

When Iowa is in the 4-3, it's nice that he can do that.

It would be nice to get him some good playing time at CB against Rutgers. Things are pretty thin at CB with both Brents and Moss injured.

"Ferentz does not like playing a conference game this early in the season. He’d prefer all the non-league contests were played first"

But it's Rutgers! If you are ever going to play a Big Ten opponent this early in the season you'd want it to be Rutgers. I'm not sure they are any better than the team Iowa just played. If not for TV revenues and Rutgers being in the New York market they'd probably be in the MAC.

Thank God were not playing them in basketball. It took a bank shot to keep them from sweeping us and they punked us in our barn on senior night.

We can't let them hang around like we did a couple years ago or like Miami did last week. We need to make an early statement that this is Kinnick and they're not playing UMass this week.
