iowa fans at minnesota

So last night I was watching game film on youtube from "Hawkeyehistorian" of the 2002 Iowa/minn game, and I noticed that there were A LOT!!! of hawkeye fans at that game. So I was wondering, for that game did we completly take over the dome and outnumber Gopher fans? or was it about half and half?
Also was that the same in 2004 and 2008? I know we would always send a large amount of fans to the dome, and thus we called it Kinnick North, but what was the exact numbers from those games. anyone that went to those games, what did you notice?

I was at the games in 2002 and 2004. I would say those years were pretty close to 50/50 or 60/40 in favor of Minnesota. But the Hawk fans were obviously much louder as there was significantly more to cheer about.

I thought in '02 they said there was right around 30,000 Iowa fans in the dome. I know I was one, although I didn't rush the field. I just sat in my seat and finished my Dome Dog and beer while they tried to carry the goalposts out of the stadium and the announcer played that obnoxious "riot noise" to try and get the fans to disperse.

It was weird up their this year because outside the stadium and in the bars there were tons of Iowa fans, looked to even be more than Minny fans. Inside the stadium though, there weren't as many, or at least it looked that way. Either the Iowa fans in the stadium got distributed so evenly that you couldn't notice them or a lot went up there and didn't go to the game.

Hard to tell with both teams wearing some yellow and seemed like Hawk fans were spread out around the stadium probably because many bought available Gopher tickets.

There were a ton in 2002. It has decreased pretty much every year since then as MN has used various strategies to keep the number of Hawk fans down. One year (I think 2004) you had to have a MN address to buy tickets.

Went to Kinnick north in 04 it was AWESOME Hawk fans EVERYWHERE...I would say it was probably 50-50.
But alas...that will be the last trip I make up there unless it is in like September some time...Minnesota weather in October-November can get dang cold and snowy...and it most certainly isn't in the climate controlled dome anymore.

We should start wearing green or blue up there because when they spread us all over the stadium and half our fans wear gold, it is hard to tell what we have there. By having most of us in the second deck, they keep the noise level down pretty well also.

It was a bit strange. I saw a lot of Iowa fans around the stadium before & after the game but it didn't seem like many at all were in the stadium during the game.

Without question the most quiet I've heard Iowa fans up there. We were much louder in 2000 (obviously a dome makes it louder) with a 3-8 record and even last year with a poor November.
