With the Frosh class we have coming in joining Marble, McCabe, White, and Basabe we have to feel extremely excited for next year and going forward.

At what point next year do you think Iowa will break into the national rankings?

It wouldn't surprise me to see some early season pub (mid 30s). Likely picked in the top half of the conference. We will be ranked by week 3.

A little premature to have expectations like that IMO.

all of his intellectual abilities are focused on how to get a super scary racoon out of his yard. this leaves very little for him to otherwise contribute towards rational thought. thus, the mouth breathing...

The great thing about predictions is that they either come true or they don't. I've posted mine. You two nitwits on the other hand sit back and cast stones.

How do you think next years team will fare?

Never, not here...;)

Doubtful Iowa gets ranked next season until BIG play as Iowa's record won't be anything to marvel at after the season. Unless Iowa State is ranked and Iowa knocks them off, there won't be much to look at in their non-confrence slate based on past scheduling.
If Iowa can start the BIG off well and knock off one of the pretty good teams then they will get some notice.

So if Iowa were going to be ranked at any point next season, it will be somewhere in the middle of the BIG season.

Do I think Iowa gets ranked next year...maybe, it will take a lot. The freshman have to live up to the hype and Marble has to become the true go-to guy for Iowa. Iowa has to have a go-to guy, no matter who it is, Iowa needs that one player that can take over to make the NCAA and be ranked.

I think we will miss Gatens and on days like today Cartwright more than some realize next year. Hopefully with another year under their belt, some of the underclass man can step into leadership rolls. We seem to lose focus periodically throught games. I'm hoping more experience and age helps remedy that.

NIT at best. Iowa will not be ranked at any time.

I dont anticipate a "breakout" year for Iowa until 2013-2014.

NCAA bound next season...been saying it for quite a while.

The freshman will not have to be the best players on the team, just fill the holes Iowa has on the roster, there is going to be plenty of talent.

If Indiana can vault back into the top 10 after sucking for years... Iowa can.

Wait a minute, probably not... it's Iowa.

Let's get through the non-conference season without losing to teams like Campbell first.

The Iowa-Iowa State game could be one of the more anticipated games in a while in the basketball series though.

they are going to need to go through the non-conference schedule fairly easily and then hit their stride during the conference season. quickest they get ranked is 1/3 through conference and that is basically being perfect. but since they will rely on a lot of frosh i dont think they get into the top 25. but if they can get solid wins and stay away from bad losses they could be in the top 1/2 of the big 10 which is a dance invite. then it is about who can get hot and make some noise for rankings the next year.

I think next year we'll break the 20-win plateau, but without some real signature wins, I don't see us getting ranked or making the NCAA tourney. Good seed in the NIT, then NCAA in 2014.

Is the schedule set for next year? If they start the year 8-0, 8-1, etc. they will be ranked. If St. Louis is ranked at 6-0, Harvard is ranked at 8-0 & Murray State is ranked at 10-0, Iowa would be ranked at 8-0.

So assume 4 of the first 8 games would include Drake, UNI and ISU..
1 ACC Opponent on the road, ISU might be ranked to start the year (depending on
if White comes back).. So pre-conference schedule could be pretty good

Where they are picked in the pre-season Big 10 might also come into play.
If they are picked in the bottom half would take a few extra wins to be considerered a top 25 team.

I don't care who they play, if they go 10-0 to they will be ranked.

i think you`re all blind fools who sit in front porch and telling some oldtimers some bull.... stories

Why?? It looks like we are going to finish around .500 in the best conference in the nation this year. We have 2 blue chip recruits coming in next year, AW is considered one of top ten frosh in the country. Marble and McCabe are improving everyday. What exactly makes this so impossible??
