This entire situation all day has been handled beyond poorly.

In what regards? Other than what Haddy sent to the Register, there hasn't been anyting out of Iowa.
Better yet, what should they have said?

Contrary to published reports there has been no decision made about the future of the Iowa basketball program. Gary Barta will sit down with Coach Lickliter when the team returns to Iowa City to discuss the year, as he does with all coaches. Barta will have a statement regarding the season and the team at some point after that meeting.
I thought Barta wasn't going to say anything?

Barta's statement mentioned the efforts of the players and that he'd evaluate the 2010 season and look forward to 2011. No mention of Lickliter or the coaching staff FYI.
This release tells you nothing. We know just as much before this release as we do after the release.
Why do a press release with no information in it?
