Iowa @ Arizona

Now that we have seen Iowa play and we have seen what Arizona has done so far this season how is everyone feeling about Iowa going to the desert? Worried? Scared? Not scared? What say you??

I personally am excited to see what the Hawks can do against a very good quality team.

I think Ferentz knows exactly what to do about the late kick off and the time change... notice how this effected Wisconsin very little going to UNLV?

My guess is more of the same. Their O, potent as it may be, can't score against our D and our O methodically demoralizes theirs.

Hawks 30
Cats 13

I think we don't know much about arizona because they played a hapless toledo and the citadel. but that being said iowa will march in and take care of business

Iowa- 38
Cats- 12

I think our O will come out flat but the D comes out strong like always. I think iowa pulls away in the second half winning 27 to 10. Tyler sash gets his first pic of the year

When you say you think our Offense will come out flat do you think it would be Stanzi being off his game or the Offensive line blocking poorly? I love seeing Hampton back in there playing but I really hope we don't continue with this every other series rotation. A Rob had it going against the clowns on Saturday so I would like to see Iowa stay with the hot RB in the future and keep a good rhythm going. Maybe that’s just me though.

You guys are crazy to pick blowouts. Arizona is a legitimately good team, with great team speed on D. They will give Iowa all we can handle. We will still win, but it will be a tight game.

Iowa 20
Arizona 17

Arizona had more team speed last year and we didn't have a problem with it. They are a good team but its hard to get a team prepared for the level of play that Iowa will bring when you have only played a couple patsies. I respect Stoops and Arizona, but I am not the least worried about this game.

I'm tired of this speed talk crap from people. Sorry to call you out bud2380, but I don't think they have more speed than the Hawks. I remember Clayborn running down the to fast Grigsby last year from behind. I don't see this one being close either. The Captain will have the boys ready. The D will be hungry! Clayborn needs a meal

31-10 at least.

I think this is going to be a tough test for Iowa.

There are very few easy road games against teams from BCS conferences. Arizona isn't one of them.

Arizona has the ability to control the ball against Iowa's defense. This is the situation in which a team moving the ball between the 20s could really come back to haunt Iowa in the 4th quarter.

If Iowa doesn't bring their A game, I think they will get beat.

If Iowa doesn't bring their A game, and AZ does then we don't just get beat, we'll get rolled. This is a different team we're facing then when they came into Kinnick last year, and we're playing at their house. A much, much, much more potent offense and quarterback.

The nice thing about them is Foles isn't that mobile I don't believe. I think we'll shut their run down enough to make them basically one-dimensional, and we'll force them to mostly FG attempts. I predict Iowa 24 Arizona 16.

Foles threw an interception with under 5 minutes left in the 2nd quarter, while Arizona was driving to put points on the board before half in BOTH games. That tells me is he was trying to do too much, since it has happened twice in the same situation. I think if Iowa can get up on Arizona early he will make mistakes, leading to more Iowa points.

Iowa wins 35-10

I didn't say Iowa doesn't have speed, I said Arizona DOES have speed. Iowa will have trouble moving the ball at times. This will be a defensive ball game. Again, you are crazy if you think it will be a blowout. I hope I'm wrong, but I'm sure I'm not. Like I said though, we will win, it will just be close.

While the score won't show blowout, Iowa will control this game, much as they did against GT. I see a 24-13 game. Iowa will be content to play ball control, field positions football. Will score on a short field, or TO, and then force Arizona to drive 70-80 yards to score.

So what if they do. They aren't any faster than Iowa.

None of us know whether it will be a blowout, but it sure was on the verge of being one a year ago. Speed is a nonfactor-we saw enough to know that we match up just fine speed wise. If we stay away from turnovers, we will roll.

Yep. That 27-17 score may as well have been 27-3.

Georgia Tech was faster than us too. ESPN told me so. Our offense is much better than it was at this point last year. Arizona's D is much more inexperienced than they were at this point last year. However I hear they are very fast.

Agree...if we win...it will be very close.

I think the Hawks need to handle this game like OSU handled Oregon in the Rose Bowl - play ball control offense and limit how much time the opposition's offense is on the field. UA plays the type of the offense that has historically given Norm's defenses trouble - a short, controlled passing game led by a generally precise QB. I think the more IA's offense (and the OL in particular) dictate the tempo and pace of the game, the better chance of IA winning convincingly. I like the Hawks' chances regardless, but coming out and seeing the OL open the game like they did Sat. will make me feel much, much better.
