Iowa and tight ends...

Tight ends coach is about the bottom of the ladder in terms of NFL position coaches. That said it's still a very nice accomplishment for Brian. It's an excellent stepping stone to the OLine coaching position. Essentially his job duties are teaching the TE's (and in some cases WR's) blocking technique. He should be pretty well qualified.

So does he become the next head football coach at Iowa? If he has success similar to his dad of course. Or does anyone think he joins the Iowa coaching staff in the future?

I hope he eventually joins the staff, im sure that would lead to the capt staying even longer than i thought.

It'll be funny if Brian does someday join the staff after building up a solid NFL resume` because the second he takes the job someone will post that he only got it because of nepotism...

It might not be a change but with it now being his official title it is probably a pay increase. And if he was the one coaching those TEs for NE than wow because they were great. If he turns out to be that good of coach I hope he comes back to Iowa City sometime.

Didn't Ferentz work for Belichik? Did he work up the ladder the same way? And if Ferentz started with TE's, then moved to offensive line, then it's no wonder our TE's get a lot of the spotlight.

That would be really cool if Brian replaced his dad and had similar success. Could have even more, since he played on the team. Maybe that increases the passion to win, and maybe he won't be so conservative in certain situations.
