Iowa 9th in the Big Ten in Recruiting Spending

Its a misleading stat. The big schools like Texas don't spend very much. It only really includes the cost of visits and staff travel. When your staff is low paid, and mediocre, it doesn't matter the best kids won't be visiting anyway.

I am not sure anyone in Iowa City cares about football anymore besides the players and coaches. I include the students in that as well. Its just sad.

It could factor in the schools like Nebraska and Iowa have to spend a lot more in travel expenses to recruit Texas/Florida players. While, for the schools in that state its just a short drive.

That's a good point, but considering Iowa's athletic department revenue is Top 15 nationally, I see no excuse for being 9th in the conference in recruiting expenditures, especially for the reason you just pointed out.

Priorities indeed. Can't win if you don't play. Nebraska is clearly doing it a lot more than Iowa is.

Kind of funny..........Fans don't seem to realize that the IOWA HAWKEYE football program is
quite Flush. (plenty of dough for those in Rio Linda)
So, apparently they don't over spend.........maybe
