Iowa was involved in six games this year that were decided by a touchdown or less, and they went 4-2.

Iowa was involved in five games last year decided by six or less, and went 2-3.

In their last last eight games decided by a touchdown or less, they are 6-2. This dates back to the Penn State game of 2008.

Narrow is the margin for Iowa, always narrow...always has been and may always will be. Just like back in the 2002-2004 run, Iowa is winning the close ones...then after Tate to Holloway, the breaks seemingly went against the Hawks until they broke through against PSU last year.

To go with that...

we've now gone two years without Iowa being beaten decidedly (i.e. more than 10 points). In 2005-07, there were games where Iowa was beaten very badly, in addition to the close losses. I'm thinking at ISU in 2005, OSU at home in 2005, at OSU in 2006, at Purdue in 2007, at Michigan in 2006, Indiana at home in 2007, at Penn State in 2007. Iowa hasn't had a loss anywhere close to those in the last two years. Team has been strong enough on both lines to stand in physically against every opponent.

You nailed it Jon. When Iowa does well they win the close games. You make your own breaks and Iowa has done a good job of that the last 2 years.
