Iowa 10-10 in last 20 B1G Games

Pretty decent chance we fall below .500 after next weeks game over the last 21. I think that’s the cold hard reality of where we are at right now.

I’m actually one who does feel the talent level has improved with Iowa.... BUT we are continuing to play a style of let’s hope we catch a few breaks to allow us to win, as opposed to let’s go out their and beat our opponent. Sometimes that allows us to beat teams we shouldn’t, but it also lends us to getting beat by inferior opponents (see Purdue, NW).

I’m not throwing in the towel on the season just yet, as in the grand scheme of things that Michigan game was one most had as a loss before the year anyway. The season likely comes down to the game in Madison, while it’s unlikely we win, crazier things have happened. The tough part is, if we lose to PSU next week, and drop our typical stinker game somewhere else to an inferior opponent, then the game in Madison truly is meaningless (UW isn’t dropping 3).

I was one of the few that was expecting a loss against Michigan, but the only problem is how scary good Penn State has looked recently and how awful are offense looked makes that game seem very unrealistic for the Hawks.

I didn't expect a win at Michigan, but it was how we looked that was the problem. I've never seen us look that bad, or unprepared on offense. I was also shocked how bad Michigan was. That is not a good Michigan team at all. We were damn lucky to only lose by 7 points as good team would have buried us by halftime yesterday. A lot of people bashed those of us that said wait until we play someone to judge how good we are. Well, yesterday we found out against a mediocre team how good we are on offense. Against the 2 teams we have played with any kind of pulse on defense, we have score 1 td in 8 quarters of play, and that was a whopping 25 yard drive at ISU. Nate Stanley and Brian Ferentz are simply bad against any decent team. They can pad stats, and look decent against crap teams, but who can't do that? They get against decent teams or even average teams, and we see what happens. Completely lost, no composure, nothing. There is no excuse for a senior qb to look as completely dumbfounded and lost as Stanley did yesterday. Nor is there any excuse for a coaching staff, except for Phil Parker, to be as utterly inept, and clueless as ours was yesterday. Kirk was even able to show off his outstanding clock management skills at the end of the first half, and at the end of the game. We are the definition of a mediocre team. 10-10 in a very mediocre division in the conference the last 20 games.

I’m tired of being fatigued about my Ferentz fatigue. We lose next week, take a pounding from WI, and then it’s basically another lost season of Iowa football. It’s so beyond moribund it’s almost comical.
