Interesting stats from Iowa’s personnel groupings on offense

Actually it's roughly proportional.

160 yards / 324 total = ~49% of our total yardage

23 plays / 56 total = ~41% of our total plays.

Would've been more if Ragaini's catch had stood.

People are confusing overall totals with per play totals too. Which is how Frank Gore (FYI I love Frank Gore) passed Barry Sanders the other day.

Sidenote: Stanley had a bad day, no way around it. His INT is probably the worst throw I've ever seen him, or any Iowa QB, attempt. Buuuuut the huge drops from Tracy and I believe one more from someone else affect his statline and perception BIGLY.

TT drops what would've been at least 25 yards, if not more with his ability on the first drive.

Late in the first half he drops what would've been a 78 yard TD, on an absolute dime of a throw from Nate.

Ragaini makes a great catch for 39 yards on the final drive and the replay official decides he needs to ensure the check from the Big Ten clears.

Flip those three and Nate's numbers jump from

11/24 (46%) for 99 and an INT

to a much more respectable

14 of 24 (58%) for 241, 1 TD, and 1 INT

All that being said, If "if's" and "buts" were candy and nuts we'd all have a merry Christmas.
