Interesting class

There are so many questions associated with it. Is it a make or break year/class for Ferentz?
Will Ferentz be around for this class in 4-5 yrs? (I doubt it)
Which qb will emerge and how will they use him? (no clue, I kinda think Weigers will do well keeping them on the bench for awhile)
Are any of the WRs they got going to be play makers? (even less of a clue)
How about the LBs same question. (same answer as WRs)

There's some boom or bust potential with this class but the one part I'm confident in is the Oline. I think they got a heck of a group there. I won't be surprised if Reiff doesn't end up on Oline down the road like his brother too.
We just won't know for 2 yrs or so at the earliest how it'll play out. Clock is ticking.

If Ferentz is going to continue he's putting all of his eggs in one basket. He must think he can really develop this group because they're not the kind of talent that's going to come in and contribute right away with the exception of Daniels. I really wish we would have gotten Higdon. We used to always bring in quality running backs and usually had 2 or 3 at a time. Nothing against the players we've brought in as they might turn out to be great but we used to get running backs and had to worry about injuries. Now we're bringing in less highly recruited players. If Ferentz is re-focused I'll trust his judgement on players but He just came out and said he had to change things up so he maybe he wasn't focused on this recruiting class. With that said I welcome all the new recruits and proud to have them in the Hawkeye family.

Well the good thing is we shouldn't hopefully need any of the Oline kids right away. I could see Daniels playing his RS freshman yr possibly but the rest it just depends how they develop and how the depth chart plays out. 2 yrs down the road is a long way. If the Paulsons/any of them are starting their RS sophomore year and become 3 yr starters that's a big time win (if they are good obviously)

I just wish he could recruit as well as Brian Williams did before he left for NBC news. That dude was the best head football coach Iowa has ever had and it ain't even close.

Dude sure can tell stories... whether they are true or not... ah never mind, that's not important.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, as long as this coaching staff keeps the incoming Frosh Boyle, at QB he could emerge as our starter as a sophomore potentially. What he said about not wanting to redshirt and play right away makes me think he has a traditional Hawkeye mindset. He's a winner! Like stanzi!

I like his moxie for sure. He's physically strong and athletic. Can he develop into a passer and be used in a dare I say Brad Banks kind of way? Time will tell. I also like Weigers and Cook. What happens with Ferentz is if he gives you the ball and starts to trust you to play decent and not turn it over he's just so reluctant to bench you for someone with more potential just based on the unknown. Hopefully CJ plays well the next couple years and after that who knows what'll happen really...

Kirk wants to know what you mean by "playmaker"

Ha that wouldn't be true. And everytime I'm going flying out of Nashvilles BNA airport with my Hawk gear on I seem to run into another one. You are not alone my friend.

Moved to Nashville 7 years ago. I see a lot of Iowa license plates here.
