  • Indiana: 3-6 overall, 0-1 since 2001
  • Iowa: 14-10-1 overall, 6-3 since 2001
  • Michigan: 19-21 overall, 2-6 since 2001
  • Michigan State: 7-14 overall, 1-5 since 2001
  • Minnesota: 5-9 overall, 3-4 since 2001
  • Nebraska: 24-23 overall, 4-4 since 2001
  • Northwestern: 1-8 overall, 0-5 since 2001
  • Ohio State: 19-22 overall, 4-3 since 2001 (excludes vacated 2011 Sugar Bowl)
  • Penn State: 27-14-2 overall, 5-3 since 2001
  • Purdue: 8-7 overall, 2-4 since 2001
  • Wisconsin: 11-11 overall, 4-5 since 2001

gee, I thought this coaching staff was unimaginative; stale; horrible; etc. etc.

Sometimes you don't appreciate what you have until it is gone......

pretty impressive !
one of them losses was against Texas,& if I remember right...Iowa was inside the 30 late in 1st half-& had a TD pass that a flag was thrown like 5 seconds after TD,then next play Iowa throw's a pick 6 (a 14 pt swing),it ended pretty close.
another one was against Florida.....the only comment I have is that's what got me started in listening to post game talk radio ( helped me listening to other folks vent)
Orange bowl vs USC- Iowa got spanked, but learned some valueable lessons,I believe, in bowl preparation

I for one, am excited to see this Insight Bowl, regardless of playing Oklahoma....
I love playing the team that's supposed to be superior.

The Hawks should probably be 7-2 instead of 6-3. The refs who called that football game must have moved to basketball and called the recent UNI game.

That game against Florida was an officiating atrocity. You know its bad when even the announcers are questioning the calls.

Agreed I was there and you knew it was bad in person, but just didnt realize how bad it was until you saw the replay. That game was f'ing sickening, one of the best trips of my life though. My buddy pooped on a car......good times.

Memories....some good, some bad, some downright disgusting. LOL

Since many of PSU's bowl wins were pre-Big Ten, Iowa has the best win percentage in bowls in the league overall. Evy was solid. Hayden did fine, and KF is rock solid in bowls. Iowa could easily be 8-1 over the last 9.

According to this we should be tied for 9th all time.

I appreciate AND wonder the potential if they were willing to take some chances and weren't predictable.
You underestimate the coaches as much as the others.

If you are local to me, I’d like to watch some games with you. I’m going to very accurately predict what most teams will do in any given situation and then I’m going to point out a myriad of very plain non-aggressive plays and then I’m going to point out some aggressive plays. We’ll watch Iowa along with about 10 other games, and we’ll see similar stuff.

Then we will decide the team that lost was predictable and stale and not aggressive and the team that wins was the opposite……we won’t have much to base it on other than the win, but hey, it’s what we’ll do all the same……:D

Aren't all 3 of our bowl losses under Ferentz to teams just 1 year removed from the National Title? USC won the year after we played them and Texas had won the year before we played them. I am too lazy to look right now but I believe Florida also won the year after they beat us.

@Caven - Yes, I had a post regarding that. Our Cap1 bowl win vs LSU was against the National Champs the following year.

Nope, Iowa is 14-10-1, not 14-10.
