Interest in Bowl game vs. the silly season...

I saw someone post last week how ridiculous it is that college football is conducting its offseason (coaching changes, player retention and acquisition, etc.) simultaneously with its postseason.

What is your breakdown of the amount of time you have spent thinking about the upcoming bowl game vs. Tennessee compared to the amount of time you have spent thinking about the coaching staff, players potentially using COVID years, early NFL entrees, transfer portal, etc.? For me, I would say about 99% silly season, 1% upcoming bowl game. I am sure that will change as we get closer to Jan 1.

I've been at about 0% of either. Been tough to get jazzed this year about it.

Made all the home games except one from 5 plus hours away, and I'm not afraid to admit that it's tough for me to keep justifying it for what's been put on the field. I don't think I'm owed a single thing and I'll support Hawkeye sports till I'm dead, but I also don't think just because I'm a fan that I have to be super pumped up about it just by default.

To say that it's exciting football would be a lie from any perspective. Driving 11 hours round trip and spending a night in a motel room to watch 9 punts, 40 passing yards, and 60 rushing yards for no TDs isn't something I'm willing to blow money on.

tl;dr...I'm not thinking about any of it really.

Maybe 1% bowl game. I might do some research on Dec 31 so I can make my foolish prediction

Football is football. It will be February before we know it and we will be stuck with Fran's worst team in over a decade and a 6 month wait until the next kickoff. Ugg. At least there is Clark and the women's team.

So, I will look forward to New Year's Day!

UI baseball is a fun follow. Altho most games aren't televised.
