In the East or West?

Assuming that neither Iowa or Wisconsin want to go East ...

You get to pick, Iowa goes to the West and stays with traditional rivals, but the division is tougher, or Iowa goes East and gets 3 "easier" games.

West: Iowa with Mich, MSU, Minn, Neb, Wisc

OR

East: Iowa with Illinois, Indy, OSU, PSU, Purdue

what do you pick?

West, no doubt. I'd rather keep all of our rivals. That would just make it sweeter to win the division, then play OSU/PSU for the conference crown.

Stay West. I don't want to see us lose the Wisconsin and Minnesota games, plus I don't want our fans to have to drive 6 or more hours to make it to most of our road games.

Obviously the west would be the first preference, but if Iowa does have to go east then there needs to be some accommodations when it comes to scheduling and protected rivals. If Iowa plays PSU at State College then tOSU comes to IC and the opposite the next year. Second Iowa get Minnesota as its protected rival. Third Nebraska and Michigan are paired and in any given two year period Iowa plays only one of the two. Just call it horse trading.

West, for sure.

But d@mn, that's a tough division. Three rivals (two of which are top-25 constants), Meechegan (which will eventually be back), and MSU (arguably the most physical game we play every year & improving).

If we make it thru that ... THEN we get OSU/PSU? Ouch.
