Imagine Wadley and Higdon in Same Backfield

I'm watching the Michigan v Indiana game. Higdon is absolutely tearing it up. He's got over 200 yards and 3 touchdowns so far, and the game is still going. He's got about the same build as Wadley, and a similar game. It would have been absolutely insane to have both guys on the same roster and in the same backfield, as was almost the case.

How about Higdon anytime, good size. Guy looks fast also which separates him from a Toren Young and a Butler ,

I think Kelly-Martin will be our next Wadley, good speed and moves

And hopefully last week's fumble was an anomaly for IKM. He really looks the part, though, in terms of being next Wadley-type back.

I like Iowa's running back situation. If Butler comes back next year, with IKM, TY and TA, they'll be in very good shape. Nothing wrong with Higdon, but I like who the Hawkeyes have just fine.

Iowa had 2 - 1000 yard backs last year, with virtually no passing game, against stacked boxes.

Daniels role and contributions as a power back, used with AW...i still believe that, along with line continuity, is what's missing...in regards to being committed to the base run game.

In the end, Higdon couldn't give up the--ahem--"allure" of UM.

Higdon and Wadley running styles are different.

That said, Higdon is the one that got away. He is the perfect example of why Iowa doesn't want a kid taking a visit to another school. Iowa should have played hard ball with Higdon and told him if he visited Michigan his offer was off the table. Instead he took the visit and the rest is history.

If you read all the mlivegoblog crap, it was clear that Michigan, their alum who had some connection to Higdon's school, the visit, etc., was definitely sleazy. Gotta say, for all the Oliver Martin drama, at least he never broke a commitment to the coaches/staff/recruiters/et. al.

If I were the Crootin' Coordinator, he would not have flipped his commitment to Michigan. Don't ask me how, but lets just say there would be several hundred reasons why he would not have flipped his commitment.

"Several hundred" is nowhere NEAR what it prolly took...

Lets just say his family in Florida would have had all the Little Debbie snack cakes that they could ever want. Like literally, I would hijack a Little Debbie delivery truck for one of our recruits.

I don't think there was anything dirty or money given to Higdon. I think that a sleazy go between convinced him to take a visit, and then he ended up loving the visit. I don't think Michigan paid the kid a dime, they don't need to. He wasn't some 5* kid, we was a kind of below the radar 3* kid who should have been a 4* that got taken from us late.

You do realize you just described the type of crap the FBI is investigating with NCAA b-ball, right? (the sleazy go-between part)

Not at all. I don't think the go between got a dime, and I don't think Higdon got a dime. I think the go between is just a hanger on that wanted to be part of the process. No money, no crime.

Might I interest you in a bridge I have listed? Or some swamp land I'm repping in Florida?

I don't see it. It just didn't go down that way. Michigan missed on a lot of other RB. If they were going to pay a kid, they would have paid one of the RB they really wanted before Higdon. They needed someone last minute. They found a go between that the kid knew who convinced him to take a visit, and they sold him.

It isn't like Higdon was waffling all over the place, seeking out other teams, or doing weird or odd things that made one think he was out asking for money. We just got a recruit stolen is all, it happens, Michigan is going to win that battle alot of times.

While I am sure there is some sleazy stuff that goes on in college FB recruiting, if you read the details of the dirt going down in college BB, you will see why it is not the same. In one of recorded conversations involving the accused, they even mention specifically how much better their scheme works in BB than in FB.

The money is being put up by sleezy agents and shoe companies to get the Player A, with obvious future pro potential, so School B. What is in it for the agent and the shoe company? The inside track in representing Player A and securing him as an endorser, which can be worth future millions.

In college FB, it is harder to figure out who the future stars are in high school, the players are generally way less marketable, and the contracts are less and the careers shorter.

I'm sorry for being so flippant about this but one Wadley is almost too much for KF. What does Higdon weigh? Can he block or at least chip a rusher to the QB? Does he fumble? Does KF care if either can catch a pass or perform well in space? I don't think so.
