but I'm gonna say it anyway. I miss Brandon Wegher and I think our offense does too. Adam Robinson has had a fantastic season and Marcus Coker has been a very solid back in recent weeks. Wegher would have given our offense a dimension that we just don't have right now.
 
Doubt it but we'll never know. Only game I can see that making a difference in is the IU game just because it didn't seem that Iowa trusted Coker in the red zone much but Iowa won that one luckily.
 
I do to. He was the type of kid who had an attitude that came along with him and Iowa seems to be missing that attitude a bit this year. I was thinking earlier tonight how he and Coker would be a nice pair in the backfield....thunder and lighting type of a duo.
 
we miss Hampton more than Wegher.....and we miss a healthy A Rob thanks to him playing in a blowout against MSU
 
you guys are reaching now. Our running game is not the issue. We have a few issues, obviously, but our running backs are not one of them.
 
I think we have missed the rotation of the backs and we haven't had a real emphasis on running the ball
 
They are all missed--Wegher, Spivey, Edds, Angerer, Tony Mo.....
Wait a sec....with all those guys gone, how in the heck were we supposed to get a lot better?

Amen, brother. On the bright side, Iowa's o line is young, talented and only going to get better. If Jewel can come back next year, like he did this year, only staying healthy... we should have quite a ground attack with Coker and Rodgers in the mix with Jewel and ARob. If McNutt also returns, this could be a very potent attack... remember, the O line was the big question going in, and I thought they performed admirably for the most part.

Let's finish strong and start building for next year.

That's BS. The coaching staff have made mistakes this year, but there has been:

A) A clear dropoff at LB, furthered by injuries.
B) Inexperience in the secondary.
C) Questionable decision making in crucial situations by Stanzi
D) Terribly special teams play.

I'm sick of hearing about how these players are being held back by the coaching staff. I'm sick of fans claiming that it's O'Keefe's fault for calling a passing play, because Stanzi throws short into double coverage. I'm also sick of people claiming that the D has no heart, when problems with execution, not effort, have plagued this team all season.

It's insanely frustrating to watch a good team lose close games, but we've also seen the exact opposite.

The problems with execution come down to your A), B), and D) plain and simple. I'd like to see the coaches try to make adjusts to improve or compensate for these weaknesses, but I agree that at a certain point you can't get blood from a turnip. When you're playing freshmen and walkons and fourth-string-level players on special teams against OSU, it's going to make it tough "call a great game".

very true, i think this debacle has had a very negative impact on this whole season...the negativity alone...has to of had a bad impact on this years squad and results as a whole....
