Illinois vs California Red Box Bowl

The Illini have their starting QB back which should help them. I hope they whoop Cal and that punk ass PAC 12 conference. Really like and respect Lovie Smith.

Wow, what a crazy finish to Western Michigan vs Western Kentucky! 3 seconds left, game tied....WK passed on a 57 yrd FG and went for the Hail Mary, but WM had 12 players on the field. So WK sends in their freshman with no time on the clock and he kicks the game winner.

That's crazy! My Tivo ran out of time so I missed the last 2 minutes of that game. Thanks for the update.

that targeting call the refs had against that Illini player was complete BS. That guy led with his shoulder and hit the Cal players shoulder, not his head. Refs blew that call big time!

Illini still have a looooong way's to go before they are really good again in football.

I can't figure out if Illinois is actually improved as a program or if this year was some kind of fluke where they slid into a bowl game!?!?

Well it was a fluke that they beat Wisconsin so, yeah, it was a fluke that they slid into a bowl game.

Getting out of the division basement is hard. Just playing in a bowl game is a major achievement. They'll probably struggle again next year with the QB and other seniors graduating.

Turnovers.... they were way up on turnovers. Don't get turnovers and they don't win.

Illinois had most of their receiving corps injured and didn't play. Made them very 1 dimensional for sure. They had a nice season but I don't see them improving much for next year.
