I also see that B1G refs are continuing their same schtick.....Wisconsin outshoots Purdue at the free-throw line 31-7. Big freaking surprise there. And it wasn't because Purdue was shooting 3's all night. They only attempted 5.
I think Maryland probably learned they have to work hard on their away games in the conference.

There is no such thing as "big ten refs". Referees in college basketball are independent contractors. They can ref any game for any conference they would like. Its up to each conference to "hire" refs for each of their games. Basketball doesn't work like football where they have specific conference referees.
For example, this year so far there has only been 1 official who has refereed 5 or more big ten games: Terry Wymer, who did the Nebraska/Iowa game. Last night he did the Duke/Wake Forest game, obviously not a big ten game. DJ Carstensen, who did the Iowa/OSU game, has since done two more B1G games and also did the Davidson/VCU and UC Riverside/No illinois games.
Even in Ed Hightowers heydays of Big Ten officiating he did a LOT of games from outside the big ten. He was not a "big ten official"
I know its fun to say things like "Izzo owns big ten refs" but its simply not a true statement. Izzo is probably very familiar with all of the refs by now since he's been around awhile and the Big Ten tends to select from a similar pool of referees, but they're not mandated by the conference itself.
It will be interesting what people will be saying tomorrow.

Can you believe we're 3-0 and finally got a win over Michigan State...and it wasn't even close. I know this Michigan State team isn't one of their best but it's starting to look like these Hawks are for real. And didn't you love it when Trice flopped, was called for the block and then got a T.
