Im headed to the USC-Gopher game today, if I run into Josh Oglesby I ll remind him its great to be a HAWKEYE!

Our elite players and their parents can't see through the pain. If the best players from Iowa would come together and be Hawkeyes instead of farming themselves off to Wisconsin, North Carolina, Kansas, etc... we would beat them. It is going to take a couple of them to talk to each other and make it happen.
Today's youth has lost the ability to overcome. They prefer to be a part of an established program instead of representing their homestate. Just like football... national television coverage and exposure will happen if you are good enough. You don't have to be slapping a brand name on your jersey to get attention. I won just as many NCAA basketball National Championships as Raef LaFrentz, Nick Collison, Kirk Henrich, Bohannon, have won COMBINED! Harrison Barnes is heading to North Carolina... let's see if he can win more than I have. The odds are against him.

An Iowa team with a roster of May, Bohannon, Gatens, Uthoff, McCabe, Barnes, Lang, Oglesby, Tuttle, McDermott, Creekmur, etc. would be very good... surely NCAA bound with a shot at all the marbles. Mix in some out of state players and you are serious title contenders.

It would do wonders for many of us to finally hear some positive recruiting news from Fran and the gang. I realize that it really hasn't been that long since Fran came on board but for those of us who have been following the message boards from the day of his hiring it seems like a lot longer than it really has been........at least for me. Plus we hear of recruits we missed out on and a few we have chosen to turn our noses up on and are no longer recruiting. I have assumed that the few times we have done this was due to some behind the scenes recruiting that we are not aware of. Maybe a silent commit here or there. I sense some frustration on occassion on the boards and I think there are some who had hoped to hear of some future commits by now. I know we have to be patient but it's now been four very tough years and twelve tough years since Mr. Davis was let go. Going only by memory (once your fifty or older your allowed to forget somethings) I believe it has been approximately twelve years since we have seen a sweet sixteen or Mr. Davis's last season at Iowa. Oh to experience that again. I'm am cautiously optimistic that Fran and crew can once again make it happen. Recruiting is obviously a key ingredient to making that happen and coaching is the other key ingredient. I hope we have a good recipe!
