a top fifteen team then we are a top ten team. Watched the BYU vrs Utah game last night and both teams looked like crap.

Hopefully we don’t look that bad tomorrow. Utah’s offensive line looked very undersized. Their defense looked good but how can you tell from playing BYU who had a horrid offense last year and fired their offensive coordinator. Just the average Iowa team ends up beating Utah by two touchdowns.

I realize the first game of the season there are kinks to work out but BYU’s center had trouble snapping the ball to their QB. At half time mighty Utah only had a three point lead 9-6 despite the hapless BYU offense. The second half for the BYU
offense was even more of a train wreck.

Again, if Utah is a top fifteen team then we are a top ten team. Go hawks and please don’t play like that tomorrow.
 
Florida's defense was getting carved up for some of the Miami too. It's pretty pointless to take stock in rankings right now.
 
It's also early season before teams have gelled. In 2002 we nearly lost at Miami of Ohio before we ever choked against ISU. In 2009 we got lucky against UNI. Both those teams turned out pretty well. Judging a team off how good they look in early wins isn't really a great idea. It's winning that matters, how you win doesn't matter until November after you separate the wheat from the chaff and even that's more if you already lost a game. Even how you win doesn't matter much if you stay undefeated (ex Iowa 2015 and Wisconsin 2017), you just have to win the BTT game to punctuate your season and nobody would care that your schedule was pretty weak before that or you had some close wins.

I think that Minny is all mouse and no horse after watching that game. They didn't so much escape as had the game handed to them by SDS in the late 4th qtr.

And those folks are grasping at air. It’s ridiculous to think a team that allowed as many points as they did last season in Big Ten play is capable of being a dark horse!!!

Plus the bad call on the kickoff return for a touchdown, the "hold" was highly questionable. That score would have given SDS the halftime lead.
