If the next coach has Iowa ties......

As a poster claimed, it narrows the field. I think Pearl is out of our price range. So the possibilities that I can think of....realistically......Gary Close, Keno Davis, Paul Lusk, Kevin Gamble, Bobby Hansen, Kenyon Murray, Kevin Boyle, Donnie Nelson Jr. I gotta believe if it's true, we either find a way to afford Pearl, or it's Keno. I'm not sure you could say Eustacy's ties are to Iowa, but think he may be a good pick.

You're kidding about Eustachy, right?

I like the idea of bobby hansen, but he has no coaching experince. But he sure talks a good game over the radio.

After what I'm hearing about our Athletic Department's budget this week, I think we could afford Pearl. I believe it's truly more a question of if he would be interested in coming here, and yes, I'm sure we would have to sweeten the deal over what he is being paid at TN.

Some of these names I'm hearing who have Iowa ties though, make me cringe. Bobby Hansen... Has he coached anywhere at all? Not to my knowledge. So let's hire our radio broadcast guy as our head coach just because he has Iowa ties? Let's try to think outside the box a little bit.

I don't care if the guy is from Kenya if he can coach.

I see some of the dumbest names pop up.... Bobby Hansen, BJ Armstrong, Acie Earl, Jess Settles, I mean come on!

I know everyone needs that first job to become an established coach but the list of names I see are just absolutely ridiculos.

What if Pitino or Calipari wanted to coach here? Would we say no because they lack Iowa ties.

I say go find the best coach you can, if you want to be a big time program act like a big time program. If you don't want to be a big time program just let Lickliter finish out his entire contract and see how things go.

I hope we would say "no" based on the content of their character.

I wouldn't hire Calipari, 5 years from now, Todd Lickliter will have more wins this season then that crook did
