If The Cubs Lose To The Pirates Again Today...

And suffer a sweep in Wrigley Field, I will not watch another game this year...this is pitiful beyond their normal..pitifulliness...

Same here. It's like being hit over and over with a bag of oranges. Impossible to watch.

It's amazing how empty Wrigley is.

I know what you're saying Shane but what did you honestly expect this year? You knew it was going to be a long one before it started

Could be worse....you could be a Twins fan like me. Sigh

That's the beautiful thing about being a Cubs fan (and I am one). Usually the baseball season is over by the first of June and you have the entire rest of the summer to do other things.

Yes you will. You won't plan the day around it like you would if they were playing well, but you'll turn it on if you got nothing else to do a lazy weekend day.

Oh this is just fantastic news. One of my best friends and one of the biggest Cubs fan I know was there for the 10-0 whooping that the Bucs put on them the other night. He texted me when he was inebriated after the game. Cub fans sick of the team before the end of May....priceless. :D :D :D :D

Shane - sorry. Cubs Win! It's destiny that you get to keep watching. :D Now, if you could threaten this for the next 10-20 days or so...

I'm a Bucs fan, so it's nice to get a little, but after 18 loooooosing seasons, I'd almost take Chicago's record over that time, almost. I have to enjoy it while it lasts before the good ones get traded away, again, and again, and again.

All I have to say is THANK YOU CUBS for winning today, so Hawkeye Shane can still continue to watch your games this year!

Swept by the Astros is what I'm hopeful for this afternoon.

I miss the other thread you guys kept bumping in hopes of a good season. You'd win 2 games and all the sudden "LOOK OUT FOR THE CUBBIES!!!!"...

That and the Royals thread.

That's right sports fans...the Cubs saved my bacon over the weekend by salvaging a game against the lowly Pirates...just in time to catch a ride to the train wreck that is "the Astros series"...woo...

Yep. Thanks for the short reprieve, Shane. Now back to your regularly scheduled car over the cliff.

Inability to win at home PLUS Inability to beat your division foes EQUALS last place for the Cubs. Lordie, I wish MLB would have allowed Mark Cuban to buy the franchise.

I don't think Quade was the man for the job...He puts up with ALOT of fielding mistakes passing it off as "we will get better as we grow" those are the type of things you CAN and SHOULD get better at now.

Maybe not, but either was Ryno in my opinion. This is a wasted year anyway, let the $ come off the books at the end of the season and build around Castro. Depending on how it plays out, new manager, possibly (hopefully) new GM (Maddux?) a couple FA's. Not sold on Pujols, I guess I would be gun shy on an aging veteran for a long contract. The farm is not looking good.

Don't hate me because our favorite team sucks, woody...the car has driven over the cliff every year for the past 100...and I've only been in it since '82...:p

I am not hating you! I was happy with the reprieve that you gave the Cubs! This was going to be a lost year anyway, and the injuries don't help either. I will never stop watching (I have a problem). If the Cubs would actually win the WS, I am pretty sure the earth would stop spinning. :)
