If OSU, Iowa and MSU all have 1 loss

Assuming we beat Wisky (I know we can't even come close to assuming that, but...) if Iowa beats MSU, and then loses to OSU, and each of these three teams wins all of their other games, all three will have one loss. Who goes to the Rose? It would be OSU, wouldn't it? Rose couldn't take Iowa because of the head to head loss to OSU, and couldn't take MSU because of their head to head loss to Iowa. Seems they could, however, take OSU even though OSU under this scenario would have lost to a team with two conference losses (Wisky would have lost to Iowa and MSU), rather than one conference loss. Bottom line, we have to beat Wisky, MSU and OSU to go to the Rose, don't we? We can lose to NWU or Indiana, as long as that school has two conference losses, but I can't imagine a likely scenario where we get to the Rose Bowl if we lose to any of these three. Wisky, if they beat us, will likely win out, and same for MSU and OSU. Right?

You make some good points there.

Basically you're right, losing to anyone will hurt our chances a lot. But you also can't assume if any of these teams beat us they will win out. There's still a lot of football to be played. I wouldn't guarantee Iowa winning @Indiana or @NW even if we handily put away UW and MSU.

Right now, the Hawks control their own destiny and they need to beat Wisconsin, MSU and OSU to keep it that way. It might not take an 8-0 record, but losing 1 might bring tie breakers into it and losing two would surely bring tiebreakers into it.

Thank you. Seems that head-to-head rules so that if were to lose to NWU, we would still get the nod by beating everyone else. But a loss to OSU means we lose the head to head and also that we would surely be ranked lower in the BCS standings, and would be in the Cap One or Outback.
