If Kirk Ferentz had Fran's demeanor and candor, he would save himself some grief

Sometime it goes beyond the wins and losses. Which I find is interesting that Fran had some mud thrown at him by his own AD and Big Ten Conference.

Fran comes off to me as a pretty open book. What you get is what you see.

Kirk certainty has the history of some quality seasons and victories, but he could certainly take a page or two out of Fran.

I think Ferentz could afford to be a lot more transparent about things going on in his program.

It is just interesting to see where the basketball program and football program our operating and functioning right now.

I think Iowa Basketball Program might not be very good right now, but you see the upside developing and the transparency of the head coach. The Iowa Football Program has some winning history under the current staff, but seems to be stuck in neutral spinning its wheels in a very defensive, evasive fashion. It can't get out of its own way to save itself.

I wish the bleeding would end......

Barta should be concerning himself with the football program right now IMO. The press they are getting is far worse than Fran getting some T's and throwing a chair.

If Ferentz had Fran's demeanor he wouldnt have lasted 13 years. Calm cool and collected. Funny how hardly anyone had something bad to say about Kirk's demeanor when he was winning 10 and 11 games a year.

Also note that Ferentz has never been reprimanded for anger issues. (He did fart once) One more outburst from Fran and he will have a pattern going. Not good for his reputation or the University's.

I like Fran, dont get me wrong, but Ferentz has all of my respect.

Fran was reprimanded because he coaches at Iowa. If he were of the stature of an Izzo or Ryan, Delaney wouldn't have said anything. When we start contending again, Fran will get more leash.

This is sports,and in the end, all that really matters is winning enough to stay ahead of the posse. When KF made the Alamo Bowl in year 3, he was our saviour.
When Fran makes the tourny in Year 4,same deal. Then what will he do? Better win in the tourny or fans will turn on him quickly....fans like you.
