If Boise St. goes 12-0, are they in the big game?

I say no - Boise State's schedule is simply too soft. I think a one loss SEC team, one loss Big 12 team or even a one loss Big Ten team gets in ahead of them.

What do others think?

I think it has to be two undefeated BCS schools in the NC to bump Boise out. If they go undefeated, let them in ahead of a one loss team and lets see if they rise to the occasion. If they don't then we wont have to worry about this for another 5 or so years. I would love for the Hawks to play them. I would like to be the team to beat Boise in the BCS and cool that non-AQ fire down a bit.

If they win out there is high probability that they are in. They don't have the schedule but they are a heck of a good team. They can play with any team any given day.

Most one loss BCS teams should be in before Boise. For example look at Iowa 5 of 6 teams they play in a row are ranked. You're telling be if Iowa get through that and then they win out (which would include beating another ranked team who is currently ranked number 2 in the country) that they would deserve to go to the title game whose best win is currently over a team with a losing record?

That would be stupid. Especially when all of there remaining opponents are teams that we would ***** about because we aren't playing other BCS opponents. With the way their schedule is currently constructed other BCS teams would have to have 2 losses before Boise would deserve to make it.

In reality though I think an OSU or Alabama loss puts Boise in.

So can Iowa and a handful of other BCS team. They would go undefeated with that schedule too most likely. Doesn't mean they are one of the top 2 teams in the country.

I think it is very unlikely. Any 12 win team from a bcs conference will surpass boise in the polls ... and the computers won't like boise better either

IMO Boise could be one of the two best teams in the nation and has the make up of a championship program. Unfortunately with their schedule I don't think they get that chance, nor do I think they deserve it. Give them a real schedule and I think they continue to win games, but we'll never know.

Boise St is good, but week in and week out I believe they would have trouble with most BCS caliber schools. The grind of the conference season in BCS conferences is enough to wear down even the best teams in the nation, so until Boise does that, I remain skeptical. Perception plays a big role in both the coaches and harris polls and Boise is gaining ground in those categories. However, I still believe the computers will be their worst enemy come the end of the season. We need a playoff system!!!!

As cliched as this sounds, Boise State is why we need a playoff. They deserve a chance to play for a championship (aka attempting to go through a playoff gauntlet) but the way the system is setup they don't deserve to go to the title game based upon current requirements.
