IC West wrestlers have bad luck

We have pulled out a lot of top recruits from here and most of them have had major issues:

Nate Moore - never lived up to potential. Most likely won't start next year

Gambrall - concussion followed by season with weight issues. Hopefully he can repeat his performance from last year's tournament

DSJ - will miss season due to injury

Dylan Carew - will he ever be healthy?

Nick Moore - looks like he will have a solid future. He isn't the bluechip recruit I was expecting out of the gate.

I always thought that ICW wrestlers were kind of lazy, entitled, and lacked any toughness at all. Basically thought they were talented, but when talent evened out they'd be surpassed bc they didn't put in the work others were willing to put in. in reality they were so much better than most of the other high schools wrestling was easy for them in high school.

I started to change my tune a little after last year's NCAAs. DSJ and GG really came through big. I'm not dissappointed that Brands has quit recruiting them and this year's batch is not going to be wearing black and gold next year.

I do think the current West wrestler who has a good 'upside' for college wrestling is Jack Hathaway. He seems to be mentally tough with excellent technique and has not reached his physical peak yet.

Will be interesting to see how his 2nd Rd match with Cory Clark turns out.
