Sold out and rocking, no let down for not making the tournament. I was watching on the treadmill at the gym and screamed out loud a couple times.
 
Crowd started off a little sleepy, just like the team. But a couple of dunks and alley-oops really wakes everyone up. At first I was worried it was going to be a tame crowd, but it ended up being really loud down the stretch, especially during the runs at the end of the 1st and beginning of 2nd.
 
it was like the crowd was eerily quiet, but then like at one of my avatars revivals, they were speaking in tongues and shouting

I agree with the eeriness. It was just like strange because it was obviously a sell-out to the eye. but it was so quiet. I think the diminished student section hurt a bit.
 
I was in a big time spin session at the Y and the game fueled me for an intense and awesome spin class! I was popping wheelies I was so amped. I dominated spin class. Go hawks
 
gotta credit Indiana St. for taking the crowd out early on. Once the guys started getting transition buckets the crowd's momentum rose going into halftime and picked up right where they left off after halftime until the very end. Great crowd for sure!

Minus the first 5 rows. They're absolutely pathetic and need to be removed from their seats. I get so tired of watching them sitting on their duffs, not even clapping after a big basket, let alone moving their obese aces out of their seat to cheer. Please put someone in those seats (preferably students) who act like they want to be there and vocally support this team. Rant over.
 
Oh, didn't realize we'd be in NYC with only two wins. I haven't looked very closely at the brackets. Nice
 
I imagine St. John's get more fans to NYC than Virginia right? So in terms of crowds we should prolly pull for Virginia?

When did the Quarterfinals move to NYC? I know the semis and finals are there, but pretty sure the first 3 rounds are on campuses.

First, Second and Quarterfinal Rounds
The first three rounds of the NIT are hosted at the campus site of one of the participating teams. For each game, the higher-seeded team will have the first option host unless logistical circumstances preclude such an opportunity. First-round games will be played March 19 and 20. Second-round games can be played March 21-25 and quarterfinal games will be played March 26 and 27.

I so agree. We need students behind the bucket in the second half where opponent shoot (not sure if they are already sitting there). It will be good when more students buy tickets and spread them out lower behind the hawk and opponents benches.

I remember Al McGuire would not bring his Marquette teams back to Vets to play drake unless the benches were put on opposite side of floor from the students.

See the students had a habit of throwing coins at players, not nice and people got kicked out but maybe they thought certain players were getting paid.
 
I will agree with above, that the old fat people need to be moved out of the prime seats, replaced with students or similar.
Been a problem for decades. All they do is take stinky poops in the rr's.
