I want Butler's guards

Especially Mack. Holy crap. I really love watching Butler play (so tough) and man do they have some players. They got the shaft w/ the #8 seed, though.

You take ANY guard that is average to great and give him 4 years in the same program, and you'll get something special.

Mack has been a stud from day one on campus. That recruiting class of Howard,Mack and Hayward was outstanding. Stevens is a good recruiter, unlike his predessesor.

Who was Butler's coach that recruited and signed that class?

It is pretty common knowledge that Brad Stevens was the guy responsible for that class. As Howard made apparent when he made it clear he was sticking with Butler ....''I signed for the school, not the coach.''

Seeing John Adams, head of NCAA officials, and Indianapolis resident, on the panel last nite during the broadcast reminded me of the story told by a Hawkeye fan Greg Hamel, who happened to sit next to Adams on a flight right after Lick was hired....he told Hamel that Lick would never be able to recruit well enough to win at Iowa, and that his assistants at Butler were responsible for much of their success.
He ended up being very accurate in his comments.
Dan Dakich said the same thing on his radio show in Indy.
Barta should have talked to these Indy-based bb guys, not some search firm dweebs.

I was in DC and saw the Butler games. Some of their plays were a thing of beauty. Really quick ball movement. Very impressed with their play calls after a timeout.

Butler did not get the shaft with an 8 seed. That's what they deserved. They went 1-3 against tournament teams in the nonconference part of their schedule. They went 13-5 in a one bid conference. They were a very average team until late in the season. But yeah, Mack is a stud, he had a huge summer for the USA select team this summer, this team would have been scary good if they had Hayward back.
