I told you all that Greg Davis was a terrible hire

But I also had no idea how awful James Vandenberg would have been this season.

You simply cannot defend either party. You just can't.

The passing "attack" is about as worthless as I've ever seen in 20 plus years.

I'd like to know how it compares to 2007. 2012 and 2007 have/were both, brutal years offensively.

JVB is so terrible that we really don't know anything about Greg Davis' offense. When your QB is constantly checking down to options that are doomed for little gain and he still barely completes 50% of his passes...you have a huge problem.

Agreed. What I've seen this year from GD's offense is receivers open downfield, sometimes wide open... yet somehow, they rarely get the ball. Or get it at their feet, or behind them, or after a defender arrives.

I agree, what does this offense look like with a QB that can throw an accurate 5 yard pass or progress thru receivers? I would have to guess that GD's play calling changes dramatically when you gain 2 yards at a time.

The system can work. We don't have the perfect players for it though. As I've said before, you bring KOK back right now the offense would run much better because all these players know his system. Can't blame Gregs system after this one season.

Just my opinion but I don't think the struggles are on Davis. I have seen positive changes in the play calling, some new wrinkles, and new plays in every game.

We just got whippy whipped and I fully expect complaining about everything, but I don't think this is much on the staff.

We weren't good at all today and PSU was lights out

Ask any Texas fan why he was let go. He's terrible and Iowa will never get the players that Texas had.

I would expect that as he gets more of his players into the system over the next couple years that the offense starts to click better.

This is true. Even with our pedestrian talent, the offense is creating open receivers. Enter the glaring problem.

I remember that. Wait a minute-no I don't.

I don't see a lot of playmaker WR's in this recruiting class who are going to make things different next year.

You noticed that as well. Let's blame GD for a highly ineffective quarterback everybody.
