He is one of a few coaches to take 4 teams to the dance. so you know he can build programs. But can he maintain it?
I think he can maintain Iowa in the top part of the big 10 and he needs to get that elite point guard to maybe win the big regular season (as you know ISU fans think the tourneys are crapshoots).
I think he is locking in better, longer, more athletic overall talent.
He could probably stay here for 10 more years but I also dont think Fran is going to coach until he is 75 like some of these other guys.
Any chance he would bolt to Syracuse in 3 years when that open up? Considering he is from the that neck of the woods.

The BIG is way too tough for that. I'd be happy with once every 5 years. As long as we made a few deep runs in the tourney.I hope he continues he climb in success to the point that we can finish in the top three of the conference and win the title at least once every three years. I would be thrilled to take that.

Mrs Fran is from Minny and they are close to those parents. She played in the central/midwest so I think she likes Iowa.
I am not sure it is a foregone conclusion that the boys play for Fran. It is one thing to play high school bball for your dad.
No Iowa coach has ever done that. Last Big title was when Olson was here and we shared it. If Fran accomplished that ,they would need to rename Carver for him. Put up a statue.I hope he continues he climb in success to the point that we can finish in the top three of the conference and win the title at least once every three years.
