Thank goodness this thug decided not to come to Iowa. The majority of Hawkeye fans wanted Keno or Bruce, I knew little of Fran but I have really grown to admire his first yr efforts, I really feel he is our best option to get Hawkeye basketball back but it is going to take time and that is not what fans want to hear. Basketball experts on this forum are complaining about losing a 2 star point guard, there are plenty of Washpuns and Katenda's out there, if they were that great they would have been long gone by now, we should worry more about the Woodburys, Gessels, Paiges, ect. If none of these players want to play for the Hawks then we have a problem.

You post is right on. The fans seem to know more about what Iowa needs and who they are talking to based on some sort of name recognition. I think Fran is not in a panic and will pull the trigger on 3 new players in the very near future. When fans are questioning the head coach who showed a much improved product in less than a year, you know the level of BB knowledge we are dealing with. When a name is posted here, it becomes the flavor of the week and even though most fans do not have a clue what the inside story is about that player, they feel slighted when he doesn't pick the Hawks. Your post is well spoken and I wish more fans would just chill out.

Larson seems like a ''follower'' who is easily led into trouble. I know he has some family issues with his parents split as a youth,and it just seems like he has not matured properly,so far. The drug deal also seemed like a deal where he was led astray by teammates. I agree that it is better that we are not dealing with his issues at Iowa..as good a prospect as he seemed to be.

As far as recruiting, this is the nature of the game. There are other guys out there to be picked up...it is a roller coaster and when one door closes,another door might open,as kids are changing commits every day,it seems...lets see how it plays out,gang.
