I really think the game at NW is pivotal....

The more I think about it....this next game may determine Hawks ultimate fate. We go in there and win, and I think we will be able to pull enough remaining wins to get into the Dance fairly safely. However, go in and drop a turd, and I honestly believe this team goes into a skid and hopes of a bid are pretty much gone. It is that important of a game.

I'm not sure which frustrates / angers me more ...

The rock-solid truth of what you posted, or the fact that it's Northwestern
-- 1-10 / 10-14 f-ing Northwestern!! --
and we're actually concerned that Hawks could lose.

I think every single one of the following games is "that important of a game." Mainly because they would all be "bad losses" with the exception of Indiana and possibly Illinois.

I'm not concerned that Iowa will lose...but that's just me. We will lose another game and possibly more than 1. But I'm only concerned about the Indiana game.

Didn't they lose about 4 games in a row by 1 point? They are a bad team but they're nowhere near as bad as their record says. Bad teams beat average teams at home all the time.

The games that Iowa can't lose are NWx2 Neb and Rutgers. Despite how bad it felt last night goldie is at least in the top 100 the others aren't. We can probably drop one, but if we do we need to make up some ground at Indiana or at home against Ill. Just be ready for the white knuckle ride of late season Iowa BB.

This year it is. Strength of schedule and quality wins.

Lunardi had us as an 8 before the Minny loss. Going 10-8 means we lose 3 more games against what is a relatively easy stretch.. Granted, lunardi's picks aren't necassarily gospel, but I don't see us climbing to a 7 seed if Iowa loses 3 more, and another in the BTT. That would mean 13 losses going into the dance.

Just a guess, but I'd be more inclined to think double digit seed, maybe 10.

We lose to NW, I think the thing goes in the crapper. Please let me be wrong

Sure would be nice to have a team that had confidence so the fans could be confident as well. The last time I remember having a team that I was confident could beat bad teams like this was way back with Davis as coach. I would get upset when those teams lost. Now I am no longer surprised when Iowa loses to these types of teams. It's a cultural mindset instilled over the past 15 years. Basically Iowa is the remedy for opposing teams to get out of their funk.

Defend the perimeter, shoot decent and we should be fine.

That said, there are no gimme games in the B1G if you play poorly.

Go Hawks.
