Than the still waters they were in under Lickliter. The more eyes on the program brings out an ever widening range of opinions. Maybe some noisy few aren't as gracious or diplomatic in their criticism as the vast, vast majority would be, but it's part of the deal you sign up for. Does McCabe, holder of a Twitter account, think that after his play on Saturday that he could check his account and think everyone would write and say, "That's okay, Zach, get 'em next time."? If he did, then he learned a valuable life lesson on Saturday. What about McCaffery - shouldn't he tell his team, stay off the social media sites for now - ignore, ignore, ignore them? Maybe he did, and McCabe didn't listen. Either way, it doesn't matter. The point is, this is all good news for Iowa, because now people are paying attention. And the reason they are paying attention is because Iowa basketball is worth paying attention to. There are some lumps that come with success, including taking shots from the few who are social misanthropes. That's true in any endeavor, be it sports, business, politics, whatever. They'll just have to deal with it. But it's miles better than no one giving a crap.
