I like Marble at the point

He is just so much more productive with the ball in his hands.

He will get better at running that sideline to sidline screen game for the 2 guard.

I really hope they leave him there next year.

I agree, he just looks more "natural" there. when he plays the 2 guard he seems to force things too much to get his points. at the point, he racks up assists as well as points. plus not a lot of 6'6" point guards so he's got a matchup almost every game.

agree with all this. matchup nightmare for other teams, allows him to get in the lane and create, doesn't allow him to stand around.

I really like running Mike off screens too, plus if Uthoff is as good of a shooter as a lot of people expect him to be, he's going to thrive off of some of those looks that White and May get from the outside.

Agree. Some players need the ball im their hands to create offense. Jake kelly was the same way.

Interesting comparison--I like it. I think Roy D is the only sure thing next year. Cannot wait for the competition to see who fills the other 4 spots. I used to think White was a lock, but not sure anymore.

I like marble with the ball on fast break and against less athletic competition. Not sure handles quite well enough in the half court game vs stiff defense, but I really like him with it on the fast breaks.

Nope. MG is the microwave off the bench next year. Instant O with a green light and Basabe and Gabe crashing the boards with McCabe camped out for the open spot up.

I said it to start the season and was honestly surprised when they felt Marble was better at the 2 but who knows the whole story. Perhaps we only land Gesell if he is promised the point spot and perhaps the off-guard is the spot Marble envisioned as his best chance at the next level so Coach went with getting his best five on the floor similar to how Ferentz looks at the O-Line. However, if you recall Mike played the 2 during his AAU days. Marble is perhaps not a prototypical PG, however, the Hawks played some of their best ball last year when he moved to the point and we are seeing it again this season. I can't help but wonder how things would have played out had he stayed there all year and Mike started off at the off-guard. Mike just has a better knack at rubbing his man off screens and a quicker release from deep while Marble has the ability to go down the lane and create using his length without getting swatted. I will be disappointed if we don't see more of this next season with Clemmons backing up Marble & Jok spelling Gesell. Also would not surprise me to see MG slide back to the point as a junior to once again get the "best five" into the starting rotation but that will be depend on the 2014 class and how the different guys develop as AC could easily still have a say in that also.

I also like Dev at the point. He reminds me of a scoring version of Carter-Williams for Syracuse. Has good enough handles to keep the defender at bay and can see over the top to find the open man. Plus he'll hurt you if you back off of him.

I thought Marble took a couple games to remember how to play PG, but now he looks great and he does a great job of getting his own shot off the dribble.
He is BY FAR the best offensive player on the team, able to score in many ways and if he plays with this confidence will avg. 18+ ppg next season.
That also means JO sits more which is good thin (he stunk again last night) and opens playing time for Jok & Uteff.
