I know this is after the fact, but......

after reading Rittenberg's write-up on Robinson and learning just how painful and sore the ankle was for OSU last year, it just blows me away what we were almost able to accomplish that night.

In Columbus, without Wegher, Robinson with a bum ankle, no Stanzi and giving up over 200 yards rushing we still took the Rose Bowl champs (who took everyone's darling, Oregon, to the woodshed) to overtime and damn near pulled it out.

It's amazing to realize just how far we've come as a program.

My thoughts exactly. On TOS, there was a thread to give ARob a nickname. It came down to Rumble or Pinball, but I don't think we found a winner. His toughness is ABSURD. My brother used to be a pretty big time soccer player (US Olympic Development Program) but had a high ankle sprain at 16 and never recovered 100% of his speed or acceleration. The fact that ARob was back in just 2 weeks speaks VOLUMES about his toughness and dedication to this program.

I firmly believe that if we had Robinson at 100%, Hampton/Wegher, and Stanzi we would have won that game by 10+. Kinda like Texas would have beaten Bama if Colt McCoy stayed in all game.

Amazing how a blown block and a missed face mask call can alter the course of an entire season. Truly believe had Stanzi not gone down, Iowa would have been undefeated heading to an even bigger January bowl.
