I don’t know how to link but I just saw on one of the Neb boards that the Aggies may be making a move to the SEC, with an announcement to come soon. Have no idea how legit this is I just seen it, its brobibly total BS.

brobibly?

A&M fans believe that they have a standing offer to join the SEC. In reality, the only time that the SEC even considered A&M was as a second team when they were trying to snag Oklahoma. Even if an offer were to be made, the politics in Texas would prevent it from happening.

And in the future, Neb boards are probably the last place to find legit Big12 news. Their cheering for a Big12 collapse would only be rivaled by Perault's.

Also, now that the money is figured out I don't see this as the end of the world if it were to come true. With the dollars that are already there and the looks of more to come in 2016, I would imagine they would be replaceable with a BYU or something. The Big12 would not lose any households as the state of Texas is already wrapped up, and it's not like A&M have been a national name for anything other than women's basketball for years.

Nebby fans are praying for the Big 12's demise just as hard as the clones are on their soapbox about how good the new Big 12 is.

Lots of words there. Make ya nervous? Hope it happens so you can crap you pants.

The B12 already collapsed, the remainder of that confederation remains "together" as long as Texas wants it to.

I'd put the over/under on it at 5yrs.

+1 Nebraska fans are as obsessed with the Big XII-2 failing, as the former Big XII North division schools are with putting the spin out there about how the conference will now be more financially beneficial to them. Since ISU, KU, KSU and MU are so well off now, it's a wonder they didn't kick Nebraska and Colorado out of the Big XII years ago.
On a side note I seem to remember alot of ISU fans wanting the Iowa legislature, senators, and congressman to try and force the B1G to take ISU or remove Iowa if the Big XII disbanded.

Nothing is going to happen for a while. In my opinion there is no monetary incentive for the networks or conferences to do any realignment.

The viability of the TV agreements will be tested in the coming years. It is a pretty good bet the SEC and B1G will be able to attract the viewers necessary to justify the dollars. The question is can the networks generate the viewers and ad revenue that goes with for deals with the ACC, Big 12 and PAC 12? If they can then things remain the status quo.

The conference left out of making big money and discussions is the Big East. It is unclear that the networks will pay the kind of money for that conference as is. This is where, at some future point, you could see some realignment. Schools like Syracuse, Pittsburgh, W Virginia, and now Connecticut are at a real disadvantage. Comparing facilities of those schools against an SEC or B1G is night and day. To stay competitive they will have to hunt for a solution because the Big East isn't it. They are unable to find a 10th team.

I look for for formation of a trans-continental conference of 16 teams, four pods of four teams per pod. I would predict that it is an amalgamation of parts of the Big East and all of the Big 12. It might look something like this:

Syracuse, Connecticut, West Virginia, Pittsburgh

Cincinnati, Louisville, Iowa State, Missouri

Oklahoma, Kansas, Kansas State, Baylor

Texas, Texas A&M, Oklahoma State, Texas Tech

Rutgers and South Florida are left out of the arrangement.

The SEC has it made right now, I highly doubt they are thinking about adding a horrible texas school.

The scenario above regarding the Big East is leaving out TCU, who is already accepted in the Big East and officially begins play in 2012.
