I have to ask.....has Fran lost this team? I mean MSU was hot from the field and all

like most ranked opponents against Iowa (at Breslin only makes it way worse like usual).

But, it has been said the team can take on the personality of their leaders. I was ready to just chalk this up to another typical MSU beat down at the Breslin, but then the Fran T and then McCabe WWE/Mike Tyson armbar.

Fran has brought the offense back to Iowa. But the defense and mental toughness has been missing in action.

And I say "lost this team", not the program, but "lost this team."

Sparty is the better team and deserved to win. Iowa and Fran is fine but they really need to work on their halftime adjustments. They have been getting owned in just about every second half lately

I agree MSU is better and much, much, better when they are on like tonight. It's this team's attitude I'm worried about. It is ok to lose games to teams better than you. But, to make a show like that. Yes, the reffing can be crappy at Breslin (and wherever you play MSU, especially if you are Iowa) but you got to keep your head up and your composure.

Of course, McCabe could be the lone wolf in this going rogue.......but I think it is more than that.

McCaffery is becoming suspect. He has talented players but doesn't get the most out them. The team has no mental toughness.

how many layups has Woodbury missed - that should have been jams?

Re: I have to ask.....has Fran lost this team? I mean MSU was hot from the field and

Tonight especially in the 2nd half Fran reverted back to crap rotations and crazy *** head shaking lineups.. When that happens this team acts and plays with no chemistry as it showed. Fran clearly has lost this team IMO. When you have Spot or fill in players I like to call them, playing way to many minutes that is a problem. Fran doesn't give his top 8 players the ability to work things out and settle in, Fran panics and is his own worst enemy.

Fran=Raveling???? He lost this team about 1/3 of the way through the B1G season. He let the rotation stay long...and thus lost his guys. Gessel doesn't know what end is up...Basabe is his usual come and go, White can do nothing more then score 6 points in small spurts, Olaseni is weak, Woodbury is weaker, Marble is a one half wonder, Uthoff is the weakest of the bunch and that sums up where we are right now. McCabe is simply being allowed to make a point...tonight he should of been tossed and missed his next game! Fran gets a T in a meaningless 17 point game???? WHY???? We will go 1 or 2 wins in B1G tourny....and flame out against the first physical team we see in the tournament. However, that first physical team could come in the sweet sixteen potentially. It is hard to watch...

They have absoluty ZERO physical toughness too. The weakest team I have ever seen. Nobody on the team can finish at the rim. There is no physicality on D. Never any arms up especially in the zone (WHICH IS A FUNDAMENTAL ASPECT OF THE ZONE!!!!)
I just dont get it. At some point the team quit on Fran. Why? Who knows it certainly corresponded with a couple of events.
It is so hard to watch.

Maybe the best post I have read in a LONG time. Someone forward this to Fran. Well put!

Maybe a more elegant speaking Raveling? Bring on Mr. Davis to coach this team. :) Just don't take off the press against UNLV/insert team in the elite 8.........:)

Re: I have to ask.....has Fran lost this team? I mean MSU was hot from the field and

In a word, "no."

This team is still fighting. Truth is, they're just not tough enough. Any time a team comes out and pushes us around, we wilt. It may not be for the whole game, but it's long enough to put us in a hole. When we finally decide to fight back we either get called for a lot of fouls or do something stupid like ZM tonight. Sometimes it's both. Until we learn to throw the first punch and then keep punching, we will continue to get these same "close loss" results.

As you all know, tonight's loss really wasn't as close as the final score will make most around the country think it was.

Re: I have to ask.....has Fran lost this team? I mean MSU was hot from the field and

Nope. I think they play hard for Fran. Just my opinion. We were beat by a better team. Only 2 losses this year that could be said otherwise. IMO.

The book on beating MSU is slow, get them into drawn out possessions and keep the score in the 50's. Right now this team has fell in love with the zone...and we are allowing D1 guys to just stand and shoot wide open 3's. What happened to this team that was able to lock defend at the 1/2 court in man to man?????
