I Have A Plan...

Whether someone with money decides to take advantage of my brain power is up to them.

SWARM Casino Resort and Hotel

Wild Rose Casino in Emmetsburg cost $40 million to build including the hotel and casino. In FY24 they made $73 million in profit from online gambling. That's not including the rest of their revenue. You can put up a casino in less than a year (the new one in CR is going to open NYE if construction goes to plan). Build a SWARM casino with a hotel, golf course (year 2 or 3), and some condos. You'd be absolutely swimming in money. The amount that Grand Falls in Larchwood HAS to give schools and others by law in Lyon County is astronomical.

A SWARM Casino could put $4 million in the collective every month absolutely no sweat and still be able to pay back investors.

^^^^^Sounds like the plot to Ozark. Start money laundering drug cartel cash through the hotel/casino…it could work.:)

Could have a strip joint in the casino where you pay $1.25 for Tigerhawk Bucks. $0.25 of each one goes to the SWARM.

Isn't Iowa pretty saturated with casinos as it is? I'm all about outside the box thinking and maybe this sort of thing could fly with the right folks behind it. We need something that's for sure.

Requires approval from the legislature, which might actually just happen if a sizable contribution to SWARM is baked in. I like it.

If Lakeside still gets to exist without a river boat, I say anyone should be able to have a casino in the great State of Iowa.

Why not a percentage of the existing sports books be proportionately allocated to the institutions of higher education specifically for NIL funding. No reason to open a new casino, the mechanism for funding already exists.

Because That means UNI and ISU and everyone else gets the same cut. That's not the idea. The idea is a competitive advantage going solely to the Hawks. What you're suggesting would help ISU just as much as Iowa.

The idea is to do something to widen the gap between you and everyone else.
