I can listen to Fran McCaffrey

do post game interviews all day long. Thoughtful and insightful basketball answers to basketball questions. Even when a member of the press serves up a perfect softball question, like "how important was it to stop Marcus Paige?". He gets into what Marcus likes to do on offense and how he wanted to have our players force Marcus to do this or that, etc. What we wanted to do on defense and why. You can tell that he genuinely loves talking about basketball. He doesn't treat press conferences with contempt. I really like him and I hope it works out for all involved.

He always keeps it real and gives you confidence he's paying attention to what's happening during the game and what he did to adjust to it ... [player1] got a little sideways so I went with [player2] because he was on tonight. I still have a ton of confidence in [player1] and he'll get it goin' again but it just wasn't his night, tonight.

No feelings hurt. Command of the game situations. In tune with his players' performance and puts them in the best position to succeed. Huh, everything a Division 1 coach who aspires to win every game is supposed to do. WEIRD.

Fran has an incredible memory. He will remember exactly how a play went down at the 7 minute and 23 second mark of the 1st half. Amazing... His passion is contagious. Awesome... He well be here for many more years, and we are dawn lucky to have him. Love it!

I love listening to the guy. I gave up listening to that other coach a long time ago. Acts like he's bored. It's beneath him to speak to fans because we're too stupid to understand his genius.

But Fran just comes off really personable and above all, he actually answers questions. Truthfully. Yea Fran! I love the guy (no homo) I have faith in him and hope he sticks around a long time. Because we want him to. Not because we can't afford to get rid of him.

Yeah why some coaches (including you know who) think they have to be curt and patronizing I'll never understand.

It's actually okay to discuss the craft and strategy... it's not a mystery.
