I almost crapped myself

OK I did crap myself.

At the start of the year if I were to lay money that we would see the following five in the game at the same time....

Marble
Ogslesby
Oleseni
Brommer
Stokes

... what kind of odds would you have given me? 100 to 1? 1,000 to 1?

I think Stubbs was in there for Marble. But yeah, there for a while it looked like the practice team was out there. They were able to hold the lead while the starters got a breather. I was impressed with their hustle.

I think it was Stubbs, Gatens, Brommer, Stokes, Olaseni.

Gatens played 40 minutes last night, and I think he was the only one to take a shot for the Hawks when this group was on the floor together.

Brimmed had a tip in and I think maybe stokes made a basket.

Yes this is correct. What an unreal lineup.

That's what happens when you have 2 players out with injuries and McCabe getting a foul in each minute he plays. It looked like to me Fran gave the orders to bang on Zeller every time he touched the ball and he was prepared to use McCabe, Olaseni, Archie, Basabe, and Brommer to do it. It worked, Zeller was 5-12 from the field including a missed dunk.

In and of itself, not surprising. Teams get huge leads or deficits, players foul out, etc.

But to see it WHEN we saw it, AND to be able to say that lineup basically held its own, I WOULD have given at least 100 to 1, with great comfort, and 1000 to 1 provided the base bet was small enough (say, a buck or two).

I nearly spit my drink out when I saw that line up on the floor.

I about fell off the couch when I seen Stubbs in there. I immediately thought of the guy that posted Iowa had nothing to play for and for a second I was thinking Fran was agreeing with him.

I would bet each one of those players has a little more spring in their step this week. As Coach McCaffery stated in his postgame interview, getting into the game and getting a chance to show they can contribute is the dream of all of those kids. They got their chance and they came through.
