hypothetical 16 team playoff bracket

This to me, underscores the futility of an expanded playoff. Like the NCAA, the #1 seed destroys the #16 and there's just no point in the game.

Outcomes in football are far more certain than basketball.

Except from a 16 seed perspective with the way we schedule OOC games it may be the only time we ever get to play Bama. I'd take it. I hate the current format, but worst case scenario is its more football and most likely even expanding the field it would still most likely be the same 4 teams in the semis.

Football playoffs should be no more than 8 teams. 1 playing 16 is ridiculous.

The only way 16 could work would be two brackets of 8 but what would be the point?

Power 5 conference champs, 3 at large with set criteria. That way no one could bitch. All 8 teams would know what they needed to do to get in.

I would be in the camp supporting an 8 team playoff, that feels about right. There's always 1-2 really good teams that get left out.

In this scenario #8 is Cincinnati. Would they fare any better against Bama than the Hawks? I don't think so.
