I don't get it? They lost three starters. Granted there center Konz is a stud. Yea they grow them big up there but they have continuity issues and limited expirience. Also I think wis is a little over hyped anyway, they lost a lot on Defense also.

I don't understand it either. They have hype from being a good team last year and as Iowa knows past seasons mean nothing.

Maybe Drew Tate should get a hold of some of these talking heads and tell them what a 10 win season and last second heroics in a bowl game get you the next year.

Correction I am now reading just two starters, but don't know where Nagy fits in here, but anyways still Carimi and Moffit aren't just shoes you can fill easily!

Well, people here seem to think the Iowa D-Line is going to be just as good as last year, despite the fact you had (I think) three guys drafted last year, two of them very high. The reason? Iowa always had good defensive lines. Well, Wisconsin always has good offensive lines, thus the hype.

Yea maybe I should of started the thread as "Wisconsin Overated?" I still don't think they have the best O-line in the Big Ten. Even with the addition of Russell Wilson they have alot of holes to fill. They lost alot on defense also.

Wisconsin will have a good O-line this year. It wont be as good as last years but it will be close enough. They had quite a few injuries over the last couple of seasons and several younger O-linemen have experience because of it.
They had (3) 1000 yrd rushers last year. If they end up with (2) 1000 yrd rushers in 2011, it wont be as good as 2010, but it will still be very good.
As for the people on this board that thinks our D-line will be as good as last years.........well.

This is it. They get the benefit of the doubt due to their historical performance.

LOL! Surely you're joking. Every Hawk-fan post I've read seems to indicate a consensus opinion that there will be a definite drop in production and what-not.

However, what you're not accounting for is that the Iowa DL will also be facing max-pro less ... so the group could still end up putting up pretty respectable numbers. Furthermore, with Norm Parker back ... Iowa will likely be that much more effective when scheming the D too.

Now, go back and find examples to support your foolish claim.

Agree 100% I can't remember a Badger team that didn't have the buffet busting beefcakes creating lanes for their running game. I'm going to side with history on this as well and think the Wiscy o-line will be solid as usual. World-beaters? Not necessarily, but definitely solid.
