Hyde's last INT

Watching the replay, it seemed to me that Micah Hyde "possumed" that INT out Sunseri, almost like he purposely gave the "illusion" of blowing the coverage the way he broke on the pass and timed his jump so perfectly. Anyone else think as crazily as I do on this one?

Sort of, yeah. As if the DB or LB is "daring" the QB to make the throw and/or "luring" the throw into "hidden" coverage.

One difference i guess (and a little worrisome) is that Hyde didn't have the safety help that spievey did. I agree that he bated him, thank goodness he made the play though.
 
I think Hyde got beat but got back in time to grab an underthrown ball...I don't think Sunseri realized that Hyde is good enough to make up that ground and thought he could just dart one in there instead of putting some air under it.

Usually when a guy is baiting someone, it's like when Jovon Johnson used to let a guy keep catching quick outs and then would jump the route later in the game when the QB thought he had that pattern all day long, not "hey look, you burned me and if you throw it with some air under it your guy's going to the house cuz I have no help on the play, but if you under throw it, it's mine!".
 
Hyde had help over top and was trailing the receiver. Iowa typically gets a lot of interceptions by forcing the qb to put it in a narrow gap.
 
Hyde thought he had help over the top so I think he intentionally played under his man. However, unknown to him, Miller stuck with the inside receiver who was running a post route.
 
Not sure if he baited him, or if he let his man get behind him, but his man was behind him and a better ball and we could've been in trouble. BUT...didn't happen that way, he made a huge huge play and Hawks win! Two pics on the day is massive.
 
It appeared that they were in cover 2 to the short side of the field. I would put a bet on Miller jumping the other route over an experienced Hyde blowing his coverage. Either way, the hawks were bailed out by an under-thrown ball.
