Huge, huge game against the Hoosiers

Unlike 2002 and 2004, Iowa controls its destiny. Win 3 of the next 4, and we are playing for an undisputed Big Ten title in Indy. The next 4 are the biggest stretch of games since Ferentz has been coach at Iowa.

And then we shock the mighty osu and urban Meyer. We physically dominate them on both sides of the ball and knock the **** ing door down to the playoff series.

the mass Hawk base seems worried

I ain't why - called defense and solid OL

Hawks will run the table and I expect a 13-17 pt win this weekend with Iowa wearing out Indiana for 250+ rushing yards

Relax - the line is low and the books know what they are doing ... the public is buying into Iowa not having played anyone, etc

I like how you think

The opening O/U I'm seeing is around 60, which suggests the books expect something like 34-27. I don't like Iowa's chances if this turns into a shootout, particularly given the trouble Iowa had running the ball in the second half against Maryland.

The biggest issue I had with the second half is that we basically went as vanilla as you could get. Where the week before against NW, we ran counters, sweeps, toss plays to throw off the defense.

MD just blitzed, blitzed, blitzed and we ran stretch play or pass plays that sent the WR 25 yards down the field. There were no adjustments, it was just get the game over without getting CJ hurt.

We were lucky that MD could not throw a pass further than 7 yards. The reason we're all scared this week, is they can throw the ball all over the field and make up a deficit on the scoreboard. We cannot go into a shell to try and protect our QB and lead. We will need a little more thought into our gameplan.

Funny, I thought last year was a bigger 4 game stretch

2014 last 4 games. Minn, ILL, Wisc, Neb

If Iowa would have won those last 4 games they would have 10-2, 7-1 and would have been BigTen west champs and in the CCG.

Hopefully,CJ will be more accurate and can step into his throws. Stop sacks.. Throw it away if must.

Hoping Hoosier defense does not play out of their minds.

We need Hawknick right now. We need him to tell us all of the positives that we have going for us and why we have no chance in hell of losing to this lowly door mat. Would he predict a 56-0 blowout?

I worry about every game. One loss everyone says they were right and were overrated.

Well if that happens then they are absolutely right. Only excuse for losing to Indiana would be we were overrated. Not a bad football team...just not playoff ready.

From my fan vantage point, Iowa has been the better team in every game this year. This is a good Iowa team, but not good enough to just show up and win - that's Ohio State good, not Iowa good. I've seen or read nothing that suggests this team doesn't have it's head on right and is focused on each and every game. I don't think they'll take Indiana for granted, and if they play well, I think they will win.

maybe this has already been said in this thread - but the reason iowa had trouble is because maryland sold out on the run - and iowa didn't care because of the lead. ferentz said if not for the lead, they would have tried to exploit the man coverage that having 8 in the tackle box created. but they didn't have to.

Ya Ferentz pulled the O into a hermit crab shell which I cringe at, but it held form. He wasn't scared of MD making any sort of run in that 2nd half, he just leaned on his D.

I don't think CJ is quite the immobile mummy everyone thinks he is, he'll be ready to go this week and the playbook will get a little bigger.

Nile, Tyler, and Jesus will be smiling down on the Hawks this Saturday. Who dah Hoosiers got?
